Alicia Ruiz, LMHC

Staff Therapist

Alicia received her Masters in Mental Health Counseling from SUNY Old Westbury. During her training, she provided individual, group, and family counseling in a high school counseling center, a partial hospitalization program, and a perinatal clinic. Alicia then completed her clinical training, and has continued her employment, at South Oaks Hospital, providing group and individual counseling to adult and geriatric patients struggling with acute mental illness.

In order to meet the unique needs of each individual, Alicia uses an integrative therapeutic approach. Alicia assists individuals in managing life stressors by partnering with them and assisting them in setting and meeting their personal therapy goals. Throughout this process, Alicia strives to create a therapeutic space in which individuals feel safe and supported in their self-expression and exploration.
