Ashley Capone, LMHC
Staff Therapist
Bio
Ashley received her master's degree from Iona University in 2019. Ashley has above 6 years of clinical experience providing psychotherapy.. She has worked with children, adolescents, and adults with various issues such as substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and anger management issues. Ashley has worked at multiple treatment settings including OASAS and OMH outpatient and intensive outpatient agencies, as well as other private practices. She utilizes DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), person-centered, feminist therapy, and MI (motivational interviewing).
Ashley provides a safe and empathic space for individuals to process their life stressors and reach meaningful insights about how to better themselves. She ensures that her clients feel heard and understood, and above all else she wants to ensure that they feel cared for. Ashley believes that when a person is in an environment in which they will not be judged, they are able to be truly honest with themselves, which fosters therapeutic progress and keeps clients committed to attending their sessions regularly.
Ashley's primary goal is to work with clients to improve their general quality of life. This is to ensure that her clients feel safe and comfortable enough to speak freely and openly about their concerns and validate their emotions so that they can be worked through. In addition, Ashley would also like to ensure that clients leave her office feeling more prepared to handle their life stressors than they were when they initially arrived. She would like to work with her clients to develop meaningful coping skills and discuss how these skills can be of use in their everyday lives.
