Book an appointment online through our website! Heather Emerson-Young received her master's degree in March 2025 at Touro University. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method, Bowen Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. These approaches allow her to tailor treatment to the unique needs of each individual and couple.
Heather strives to create a warm, accepting, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions. Her approach is affirming, trauma-informed, and collaborative. She incorporates a strengths-based perspective, active listening, and humor when appropriate to foster trust and connection.
Heather's primary goal is to empower clients by helping them gain insight, develop effective coping strategies, and build fulfilling relationships. She focuses on fostering self-acceptance, emotional regulation, and meaningful change. Her approach is tailored to each client’s needs, ensuring therapy is both effective and affirming.
