Receiving her masters in social work at The University at Albany in 2018, Laurissa has 6 years of experience specializing with adolescents, young adults and adults struggling with substance abuse and recovery, mental illness, and prevention programming in licensed residential and outpatient settings. She values learning and exploring the most up-to-date practices to provide competent care for her clients.

Laurissa specializes in treating adolescents and adults with anxiety, grief, LGBTQIA+ issues, substance use disorders, self-esteem, and trauma. She recognizes that it can be challenging to start therapy and the courage it can take to start. With that, she utilizes a person-centered approach creating a safe, judgement-free space where she works collaboratively with clients to open up and identify their own therapeutic treatment goals. No matter the struggle, Laurissa would like to empower her clients so that they can define how to cope, effectively learn to manage their emotions and behaviors.
