Melissa Soliz, MFT-LP

Staff Therapist

Bio

Melissa earned her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Hofstra University and completed her clinical training through the MHOTRS Clinic. She has experience counseling children, adolescents, and adults ages 5 to 65, with extensive experience supporting individuals from Hispanic backgrounds.

Melissa utilizes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from Structural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She tailors her approach to each client's unique needs and developmental stage. With younger clients, she incorporates play therapy and icebreakers to build trust and connection, while providing adolescents and adults with a safe, supportive space to openly share their thoughts and experiences.

Melissa's goal is to help clients achieve emotional and psychological stability while building the confidence to navigate life's challenges independently. She works collaboratively with clients to develop insight, strengthen healthy coping skills, build resilience, and increase self-confidence. By empowering clients to overcome obstacles and manage life's stressors, Melissa strives to help them achieve lasting well-being and work toward their personal goals.
