Bio
Marissa is working on getting her master’s degree from Hofstra University and is expected to graduate in December 2024. Marissa has worked at a residential treatment center for adults with eating disorders, adults of all genders (18-65), LGBTQ+, and college students for over a year and would love to work with children as young as 5 years old. She desires to help individuals who suffer from OCD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, self-esteem, women’s Issues, sports performance, trauma, teen issues and life transitions. She utilizes approaches such as person-centered, humanistic, behavioral, cognitive behavioral therapy.
Marissa would like to create an environment that is safe and supportive. Marissa wants to hold space for her clients to feel seen, heard and empowered. Marissa's goal is to work collaboratively to create a treatment plan that feels comfortable but also challenges clients enough to grow. She would like for her clients to feel supported enough to express themselves, learn more about themselves and make the changes that they want in their lives.
