Bio
With over 20 years of clinical experience, Heather earned her Master of Social Work from NYU and holds an advanced certificate in Clinical Supervision from Columbia. Her career includes a decade as the Director of Social Services at St. Mary's Center, with dedicated work supporting marginalized populations navigating homelessness, substance use, and chronic illness. As a steadfast LGBTQ+ ally, she specialized in HIV/AIDS care, bereavement, and life transitions. She also has significant experience facilitating support groups for parents of children with special needs and adults facing complex life challenges. A significant portion of her current focus revolves around helping those with Depression and or Anxiety.
Heather's approach is eclectic and client-centered, drawing from Psychodynamic therapy, CBT, mindfulness, and harm reduction. By creating a safe, non-judgmental environment, she meets clients exactly where they are. Her goal is to join patients in an empathetic partnership, helping them actualize a healthier, more authentic version of themselves.
