Bio
Alexis received her BA/MA in Forensic Psychology in 2023 and her MA in Forensic Mental Health Counseling in 2024 at John Jay College. Alexis has years of experience working with populations such as incarcerated individuals who have serious mental illness, as well as individuals in an inpatient psychiatric unit, correctional facility, and hospital.
Alexis also uses an integrative approach to help her clients with their mental health journey. She creates a comfortable environment for her patients by actively listening, showing empathy, and maintaining a non-judgmental attitude. Alexis ensures confidentiality and establishes a warm, welcoming space where they feel safe to express their thoughts and feelings.
Alexis' goals in treating clients in a therapeutic space include fostering self-awareness, promoting coping skills, and encouraging personal growth. She also aims to create a supportive environment where clients can explore challenges, develop healthier thought patterns, and ultimately enhance their overall well-being.
