Jelise Nimmons, MHC-LP
Staff Therapist
Bio
Jelise earned her Master's degree from Adelphi University and completed her clinical training in both private practice and school-based settings. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. She utilizes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and other evidence-based approaches to support clients experiencing life transitions, adjustment challenges, and substance use concerns. She tailors therapy to each client's unique needs and goals.
Jelise believes that trust is the foundation of a successful therapeutic relationship. She creates a supportive, nonjudgmental environment by allowing clients to take the lead in sessions while providing guidance, encouragement, and professional support along the way. Her collaborative approach helps clients feel heard, respected, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.
Jelise's goal is to provide meaningful support and guidance as clients navigate life's challenges. She works alongside each client to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and foster the confidence needed to create lasting, positive change.
