Lucia Vargas, MHC-LP
Staff Therapist
Bio
Lucia earned her Master’s degree from Manhattan University in May 2026 and has experience providing counseling services. Lucia has worked with children, adolescents, and adults from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, PTSD, and a variety of life stressors. Lucia completed her clinical training at New York Psychotherapy and Counseling Center, where she provided care in a community mental health setting through both in-office and telehealth services. Her primary theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which she integrates with psychodynamic approaches to help clients address both present-day challenges and deeper emotional patterns.
Lucia is dedicated to creating a warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental environment, especially in virtual settings. Lucia emphasizes building trust through active listening and validation, ensuring clients feel safe, supported, and comfortable sharing at their own pace.
Lucia's goal is to meet clients where they are, helping them explore their thoughts and emotions, develop effective coping skills, and feel less alone in their experiences. Lucia strives to empower clients so they leave therapy feeling more understood, confident, and capable of navigating their lives.
