Bio
Maddie completed her master's degree in mental health counseling in December 2023 from Hofstra University. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults having psychiatric diagnosis and dual diagnoses. Maddie gained her experience while providing group therapy to adults with substance use and behavioral health concerns at a PROS program. She also received training at a psychiatric partial hospitalization program for adolescents, and currently, she is working as an assistant counselor at an inpatient psychiatric setting.
Maddie follows a person-centered theoretical orientation and utilizes a skills approach that focuses on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) interventions. She believes in creating a comfortable environment for her clients by meeting them where they are and using empathy and genuineness to instill a safe and judgment-free space.
Maddie's primary objective is to empower her clients to flourish and shine in their everyday lives. She encourages them to use the skills they have learned to live better and feel better. Maddie finds it rewarding to see her clients grow into their truest selves and gain confidence.
