Matthew Blanks, MFT-LP
Staff Therapist
Bio
Matthew earned his Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Mercy College in 2022 and has experience in working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in various settings, including classrooms, counseling centers, clients’ homes, and social work agencies. Matthew primarily utilizes Structural Family Therapy, while also incorporating narrative and solution-focused therapy techniques. Although he works primarily with individuals, he recognizes the important role that family dynamics and relationships play in emotional well-being, behavior, and personal growth.
Matthew is strongly committed to creating a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and accepted. He understands that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, so he focuses on building trust and fostering a safe space where clients can openly explore challenges, gain insight, and work toward meaningful change.
Matthew's goal is to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, improve communication and boundaries, and develop healthier ways to cope with life’s challenges. By identifying patterns that keep them stuck, Matthew helps clients build lasting skills, increase self-awareness, and create positive, sustainable change in their lives.
