Bio

Valerie earned her Master's degree from Columbia University School of Social Work and brings extensive experience working with mental health outpatients and inpatients, nursing home residents, individuals living with chronic illness, LGBTQ+ clients, and neurodiverse individuals. Her clinical training includes teaching hospitals, outpatient clinics, and a state hospital, providing her with experience supporting clients with diverse needs and concerns.

Valerie utilizes a person-centered approach while incorporating Modern Psychoanalytic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, neurodiversity-affirming practices, and 12-Step approaches. She prioritizes listening to the patient, encouragement, and understanding each client's concerns and goals.

Valerie's goal is to provide a supportive relationship while remaining mindful of each client's concerns and choices. She offers support and problem-solving to help clients work toward their goals, while validating their experiences and celebrating their successes.
